List of General Financial Aid Resources

Provided below for you is a list of healthcare financial aid resources that, unlike some other financial aid websites, do not require you to necessarily have a diagnosed medical disease. If you are looking for grants that are specifically catered to those with a specific medical disease, treatment, or procedure, check out this section of our website.

Some of these also accept your application if you are not insured, so be sure to check each one out. We have also provided some website navigation diagrams for the ones that are particularly complicated.

  • In the “Case Management Assistance” section (top left square), you can reach out to a Case Manager who can provide advice and information on topics such as:

    • access to care

    • paying for medical treatment and living expenses

    • employment

  • All you have to do is call their number at 800-532-5274, which is also included on their website.

  • In the “Financial Aid Funds” section (below the Case Management Assistance), you can find applications for grants specific to your living area and situation. There are very specific criterias you have to hit before being able to apply, so be sure to go through each of them before starting the application process.

    • For example, the Begin Again Foundation Southeastern Virginia Financial Aid Fund offers a $1,000 grant for those in Southeastern Virginia diagnosed with Sepsis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) or Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).

In the “Co-Pay Relief Program” section (below Financial Aid Funds) is a list of medical diseases, procedures, and visits that qualify for a grant. All you have to do is click the “See All Funds” button in order to access their list to see if you are eligible to apply for any funds.

Note

For many of these funds, you have to have some sort of insurance. More specific requirements for each grant will be listed when you click on the fund that you are eligible for.

  • For each fund, this website has also listed resources for you to get more help and websites that offer more insight on the specific disease, treatment, or medical procedure you are getting.

  • To apply for the fund, you just have to complete the application and you will be notified immediately via email if your application was accepted.

  • You can also call the number 1-866-512-3861 to apply. Please be sure to get all of your information ready prior to the call to ensure a smooth application process.

    • If you are eligible for the Health Equity Funds, you can also click on that button to filter your available grants.

      • What is a Health Equity Fund?

        • This is a fund that is given specifically for individuals living in certain zip codes in America that may struggle with receiving and paying for healthcare.

      • How do I know if I qualify for Health Equity Funds?

        • Click on the link that says “Is my zip code eligible for Health Equity Funds?” If your zip code is red on the map, then your location qualifies you for the Health Equity Fund. This map is also found in the section labelled “Health Equity Case Management Program” on the navigation bar located at the home screen.

  • The other section is called the “National Financial Resource Directory”. Here, you can find a variety of ways to apply for help depending on your age, insurance, residential state, and medical diagnosis.

    • To find the best method of help for you, just fill in your information on the top bar.

    • The one limitation of this resource directory is that it is only for those who have the following specific diseases:

      • Blood Disorders

      • Cancer

      • Digestive System Disorder

      • Genetic Disorders and Rare Disease
